1) Cheap things
I love getting bargains! If I find something I want, I'll end up checking every single online retailer I can think of to try and find somewhere that has it even a few pounds cheaper. I have an annoying habit of giving in just too soon, and then getting annoyed from the inevitable price cut which follows the day after I buy it.
In a recent post I mentioned I'd bought 14 Studio Ghibli DVDs, in what I believed was a good deal. However, today when checking my emails I noticed that I had been sent one saying that I could only proceed with my 'high value' order if I processed it over the phone with the customer services department.
They call this added security, I call it dogshit. £80 is not a high-value order, I've placed far larger orders and never once had to call anyone to get the payment verified. I showed my gratitude at this service by promptly cancelling the entire order, which also gives me a bit more money to spend on my holiday, yay! (Leaving tomorrow morning if you're interested.)
2) Cryptozoology
The study of animals which are believed (or not) to exist, but no physical proof has been found.
I'm sure everyone has heard of the Yeti, Bigfoot, Nessie and possibly the Bunyip, but there are also a few other rather cool ones, such as the North American Thunderbird, the Chupacabra and possibly Megalodon (which is a bit shit-your-pants scary). Here's a link to some basic information
http://www.cryptozoology.com/cryptids.phpAnd whilst I'm here, may as well show you the cover of the Megalodon film that was released.

3) Mortal Kombat (( Fucking LOVE this fandom! *latches to Sonya and Raiden ))
MORRTAAALL KOMBATTTT! *ding ding ding ding, dingding*
I remember first getting this back in year 2, and everyone would walk around saying the 'blood code' for the megadrive version (A,B,A,C,A,B,B - I still remember it to this day). Pretty groundbreaking stuff at the time, just don't go back and play it now. Likewise, don't watch the 'story begins' "animated" "movie". I paid 25p for it from a car-boot sale, and I actually feel kind of dead inside having watched it.
This series has had a new lease of life injected into it after re-discovering how good Mortal Kombat 2 on the SNES is. It is now one of my most-played games of the moment. =D
4) Paranormal
I love anything like this. Ghosts, UFOs, Aliens, Demons, Cryptozoology, it's all tied in together. I must have hundreds of books on the subject, and I always make a point of picking a new one up whenever we visit a seaside town (as they always seem to have the kind of warehouse-style bookstores that carry this kind of material).
To this day I am still adamant that I've seen at least 1 UFO and possibly a ghost, or alien at one point. To be honest it makes me a bit goosebumpy to think about it, so I shan't at the moment.
5) UFOs
See above!
I'm terribly sure in my mind that I've seen at least 1 UFO (as in some kind of extra-terrestrial craft), but I find it quite hard to recount these sightings to myself now.
I'd defintiely like to see another one at some point, even if it was just an experimental aircraft and not something inter-planetary.
6) Zsnes
Forget DS wi-fi, this here is the ultimate in online Nintendo hi-jinks.
Being able to play people all over the world across an Internet connection at any SNES game you may care to is quite obviously one of the greatest things ever invented.
Mario Kart Wii may be coming out in 2008 boasting the ability to play anyone around the world, but this program right here did it many years ago, and it does it with the best game in the series as well.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat for the DS? Give me Mortal Kombat 2 on Zsnes any day!
Oh, and non-online stuff is fairly smashing as well. Built in Game-Genie, save states, high quality filters, super scope support, it has everything the original SNES had to offer, and simply adds in the tremendous online play option as well.
Well, I think that's those done.
